Sino-Environment Technology Group Limited ("Sino-Env" or the ''Company") and its subsidiaries
(the "Group") is an environmental protection and waste recovery solutions specialist in the PeopleÕs Republic
of China ("PRC").
The Group's business is split into the following main segments:
- Industrial waste gas treatment, management and recovery of volatile organic compounds ("VOC"), in
particular toluene
- Dust elimination
- Industrial waste gas treatment and management of sulphur dioxide (SO2) and oxidised forms of nitrogen
(NOx) for independent power plants, in particular coal-fired power plants (desulphurisation and de-
nitrogenation)
- Industrial waste water treatment and management
With first-mover advantage for efficient toluene recovery, the
Group is a market leader in the treatment, management and
recovery of VOC from industrial waste gas. With our patented
technology leadership in the recovery of VOC.
With approximately 550 employees, the Group has a wide
presence in PRC in the coastal provinces of Shandong,
Jiangsu and Fujian, as well as the central and western
provinces such as Sichuan, Yunnan and Xinjiang.

Industrial waste gas treatment,
management and recovery of VOC
The Group undertakes the design, fabrication, installation
and commissioning of its VOC Automatic Recycling Device,
which is a fully automated environmental protection device
developed to treat and recover various types of VOC. The
customers. The Group's customers are mainly from the textile
synthetic leather, chemical and petrochemical industries, as
well as industries that involve spray painting.
Toluene has a high commercial value as it is widely used
as solvent in many industries such as chemical andN
petrochemical, synthetic leather and textile, as well as
industries that involves spray painting. Most importantly, as
the price of toluene is correlated to crude oil prices, the high
recovery rate of the patented device translates into significant
cost savings for its customers, at a time when oil prices have
hit record highs.
Our patented device will help our customers adhere to the
regulatory obligations and most importantly, to achieve
significant cost savings from valuable toluene recovery. The
Group uses active carbon fibre, which enables our device to
achieve a recovery rate of approximately 98%. The Group
also has a first-mover advantage in the utilisation of such
technology.
The Group has signed a long term agreement with Sichuan
Tianyi Science & Tech Co., Ltd. ("Sichuan Tianyi") for the
promotion of the technology to recover ethylene and other
resources from catalytic cracking dry gas, which will greatly
aid the GroupÕs marketing and sales of such products outside
of the PRC over the next decade.
In 2007, the Group signed an agreement with Austrian Energy
& Environment ("AE&E") Co., Ltd., China Branch for the
treatment of waste gas from boilers. This collaboration will
enhance the GroupÕs ability to penetrate into the waste gas
treatment market for large and medium-sized boilers in the
PRC.
This business segment is undertaken by our subsidiaries
Thumb Env-Tech Group (Fujian) Co., Ltd. ("Fujian Thumb"),
Chongqing Thumb Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd.
("Chongqing Thumb"), as well as Fujian Thumb Environmental
Facilities Co., Ltd. ("Fujian Facilities").
Dust elimination
The Group undertakes the manufacturing and installation of
industrial dust-elimination facilities. The GroupÕs customers
are mainly power plants and from the steel mill and paper industries.
This business segment is undertaken by Fujian Weidong
EPT Co., Ltd. ("Fujian Weidong") and its wholly-owned I
subsidiary, Fujian Weidong Environmental Engineering Co.,Ltd. ("Weidong Engineering") in PRC.
Industrial waste gas treatment and management
for independent power producers
The Group also undertakes the treatment and management
of sulphur dioxide emissions and oxidised forms of nitrogen,
in processes commonly known as desulphurisation and denitrogenation respectively. The Group is engaged mainly by
independent power producers to undertake the process.
State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) of PRC
has mandated the desulphurisation of coal-fired power plants
in the acid-rain belt in PRC. The market is expected to be in
excess of RMB 10 billion.
This business segment is undertaken by Fujian Thumb. Fujian
Weidong manufactures certain desulphurisation devices for
the Group. With Fujian Weidong, the Group has a vertically
integrated supply chain to support its desulphurisation arm.
Industrial waste water treatment and
The Group undertakes the design, assembly, installation,esting and commissioning of various equipment relating to
industrial waste water treatment and management systems.
The GroupÕs customers for this segment are from the electro-plating, printing and dyeing, paper manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries.
This part of the business is carried out by Fujian Fuda Desai Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. ("Fuda Desai") and Chongqing Thumb.
Others
The Group undertakes the marketing of energy saving
devices. This segment is undertaken by Fujian Thumb.
In 2007, the Group announced the incorporation of new
wholly-owned subsidiaries in Singapore and PRC, Sino-
Environment Waste Management Technology Pte. Ltd. and
Thumb Waste Management Technology (Nanping) Co., Ltd.
respectively. The principle activities of these new subsidiaries
will be the provision of environmental protection waste
management and consultancy services.
